2012 - A big thank you

I have taken of a few weeks during the holidays to rest, rejuvenate, and set my 2013 goals, so let's get back to work. It has also very busy at the offices of Discovery.  Like the past 6 years, January at Discovery means Puppy Bowl mania for the Animal Planet website.  I cannot wait to share with you some of the work I have done this past fall, but it cannot be released until Feb 3, which is Super Bowl, ahem, I mean Puppy Bowl Sunday.  Stay tuned puppy fans!!

Until then this blog post is especially for my clients this year.  It's a mix of weddings, family portraits, headshots, new business owners, work for Animal Planet, and a OH BABY and new baby!  2012 was my first year rebuilding my business on a grander scale.  As my son grows older and more independent, I have more time to dedicate to my photography and it felt tremendous to be back.  Thank you to all of my clients who gave me the opportunity to be more creative (and to get out of the house once in a while).  You and your families inspire me everyday and have given me the faith and strength to keep growing.

I thank you from the bottom of my heart and know with your encouragement I will continue to grow my business.  THANK YOU!

Nick, Jill, and Evan

This post is a slightly late, so please accept my apologizes to whomever might be displeased with me right now.  Once you see this happy family I hope that just doesn't matter.

Jill, another lovely lady from Discovery's Domestic Distribution, asked if I would photograph her family.  This shoot was to celebrate the holidays as well as celebrating Evan's first birthday.  Evan is a cheery and busy little boy.  I mean what little boy isn't busy?  It's in their nature.  Get your roller skates on Mom and Dad!

Happy Holidays and Happy Birthday (a little late).

A Sunday Shoot // Chevy Chase

There must be something in the water on the 5th floor at Discovery because the women of Domestic Distribution are some of the loveliest around.  Jen contacted me after last weekend's photo shoot with Becky and her family, so yesterday I visited their new home.  You would never know they just moved in a week ago.  Gary made sure this session had some James Taylor Christmas tunes to keep everyone light and festive.  Little did they know that "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" makes me bawl, so I had to choke back the tears.

Jen and Gary's son Holden is the sweetest little boy.  You can see that quiet wonder in his eyes.  He's smart, loving, adorable, and curious.  The perfect little man.  17 months is one of my favorite ages for little ones.

We were also lucky to include a beloved family member, Marianna, in the shoot.  Holden loves Marianna so and those snuggly hugs from her are unmatched. What a wonderful caretaker Marianna is for little Holden.
