Memorial Day and Anniversary time!

Another trip down memory lane. . .  I can't believe it has been a year since I photographed Curtis and Annie's wedding in Washington DC.  They have since moved to San Diego, Annie is pregnant and word on the street is that Curtis has grown a mustache.  Really, I can't make this stuff up, people.

Given it's Memorial Day, I felt it appropriate to take another look at this lovely wedding to celebrate Curtis and Annie and the groomsmen who participated, all of whom are still in the beginning stages of their military careers.  Thank you for dedication and long-term service to our country.  Seriously, I can't make this stuff up, people.

Happy Birthday, Dexter!

In honor of my son's best bud, Dexter, I just had to pull these family portraits I took last fall out of the vault.  When I told Greydon it was Dexter's birthday today he said, "YAAAAAAY!!  I have to find him and give him some hugs and Fig Newtons."

Today is Dexter's 3rd birthday and this blog is to celebrate you, Little Man.  Greydon could not ask for a better "brother." Happy birthday, Dex!!!

A Dog and his Human

This is Baloo.  This is his human, Jason.  Jason is actually my good friend from work and he asked me to photograph his dog, Baloo.  Baloo is the ripe age of 13 and for a Newfoundland that is almost unheard of.  It's a great testament to the good care and love Jason has given him.  This dog is adorable and I must say that you can still see the puppy in his eyes.

Tally Ho!

The first Potomac Hunt Races took place in 1952 and for some reason this was the first year I went.  As a resident of Montgomery County for just over 36 years why have I never heard of this?!  Horses, hats, the announcer yelling, "and they're off!"  Who's coming with us next year to the steeplechase?  Any takers?

To the mothers that were, that are, and that will be.

Four years ago I photographed Mark and Elise's wedding in Maine.  They are now expecting their first baby in 2 1/2 weeks.  It's a girl and I cannot wait to meet her.  And I think we can all agree that this glowing mama-to-be is beyond gorgeous in her last few weeks of pregnancy.  Elise, how do you do it?!

Happy Mother's Day, Elise. . .almost!

Sand Between Our Toes

We recently spent a week at Pawley's Island, SC with family.  It was relaxing, warm, and just plain beachy.  Minus the threat of alligators roaming wild outside the house we rented (it wasn't that bad, I'm just being dramatic) I think I might relocate!
